Introduction: A 12 Days Refresher Course on National Education Policy (NEP) – 2020 has been organized by UGC-Malaviya mission teacher training centre SGBAU, Amravati from 12-24 February 2024. The new National Education Policy - 2020 (NEP-2020) was notified by the Government of India in July 2020, 34 years after the last NPE was notified in 1986. The NEP-2020 provides for a comprehensive, sustainable and reformative roadmap for a paradigm shift in the entire education system in the country, and is culturally grounded, is geared toward quality transformation, and is internationally competitive. The National Education Policy – 2020 stands on the foundational pillars of access, equity, quality, affordability & accountability and the successful implementation of the NEP-2020 revolves around it. The NEP-2020 envisages the revision and revamping of all aspects of education structure including regulation to create a new system that is also aligned with Sustainable Development Goal-4 (SDG4) while building upon India’s traditions and value systems. The policy meticulously explained school education reforms, with emphasis on 100% Gross enrolment ratio (GER) from preschool to secondary level by 2030. The merits and importance of open schooling system, with the wishful ambition of bringing 2 crores out of school children back into the mainstream through the open schooling system. The current 10+2 system to be replaced by a new 5+3+3+4 curricular structure corresponding to ages 3-8, 8- 11, 11-14 and 14
Objectives: 1. To describe the foundational principles of NEP-2020. 2. To study the Bhartiya Gyan Parampara, culture and values, holistic and multidisciplinary education, curriculum and pedagogy, multiple entry-exit, skilling and employability, optimal leaning environment and learner support, academic bank of credits, assessment strategies, and formulate plan of action in these areas. 3. To study various components of online and digital education /technology-enabled learning/ blended learning, OERs, MOOCs and flipped classrooms. 4. To describe the status and possibilities of cross-border delivery, internationalisation of curriculum; and underline the importance of quality academic research, and regulation and quality assurance in developing an academic culture of evidence-based teaching-learning.

Weekly Plan: The programme was conducted in two weeks. the programme was scheduled from 12 - 24 February, 2024 In the first week there were live lectures from various eminent resource persons on various topics like: Academic Reforms in the Light of NEP – 2020, Learner Centric Design MOOCs and e-Content Development, Promotion of Indian Languages, Panel Discussion, Universal Human Values in Holistic Education , Academic Integrity and Plagiarism , Innovative Research and Patent Drafting, Google Tools and Google Classroom, Role of HEIs in Community Engagement, Student Diversity and Inclusive Education , Academic Leadership with Reference to NEP - 2020 , Indian Knowledge System In the second week there were live lectures from various eminent resource persons on various topics like : Multiple Entry and Multiple Exit System in Academic Programems, Holistic and Multidisciplinary Education, PM USHA Project Launching, Skill Development Perspective, Recorded Video of Panel Discussion on NEP – 2020, Innovation, Startups and Entrepreneurship Development , ICT Based Teaching & Research Tools. Also in the second week there was seminar presentation of participants in online mode, Submission of MRPP, online MCQ test was conducted. Also there was Feedback and Discussion Session
