| Introduction: | The Department of Mathematics, Pondicherry University in collaboration with UGC- Human Resource and Development Centre, Pondicherry University successfully completed a 14-Days Refresher Course in Mathematics during the period 4th – 17th October, 2023. The refresher course had a total of 21 participants from various parts of India which include Maharashtra, Assam, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Karaikal, Andaman and Nicobar Island and Tamil Nadu. |
| Objectives: | The scope of the refresher course in Mathematics was to equip and motivate the participants with the basic as well as advanced concepts of various topics in the field of Mathematics for quality teaching and research. It was an educational course for teachers to refresh their Mathematical knowledge and the developments in it. |

| About Instructor: | S. Francis Raj obtained Ph.D. from SASTRA University. He currently holds as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics, School of Ramanujan School of Mathematical Sciences at Pondicherry University. He have attended more than 30 conferences national and international. He has been awarded with Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in a Project under Department of Science and Technology, India at Srinivasa Ramanujan Center, SASTRA University, Kumbakonam, India. |
| Weekly Plan: | This is a condensed breakdown of the lecture schedule: Dates: Oct 4th - Oct 17th, 2023 (excluding Sundays) Format: Daily lectures (forenoon & afternoon sessions) on various Math topics. Highlights: Inauguration talk on Elliptic Curve Cryptography. Lectures on diverse areas like: Differential Equations Topology Mathematical Modelling Wavelet Transform Galois Theory Relativity Theory Participant seminars and an exam. |
