Introduction: Refresher Course in Human Rights and Social Transformation was organised by UGC-MMTTC, Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University From 13-09-2023 to 27-09-2023. The main aim behind organising this course was to address various issues concerning human rights in the society and the changes the society was coming out of it. Human rights are moral principles or norms that describe certain standards of human behaviour, and are regularly protected as legal rights in municipal and international law. Everyone born in this world has human rights that must be protected by the law. Social inclusion is the process of improving the terms on which individuals and groups take part in society—improving the ability, opportunity, and dignity of those disadvantaged on the basis of their identity. This course helps to understand the basic and advanced structure of human rights, role and responsibilities of HEIs in human education and social inclusion through teaching, learning and research.
Objectives: 1. To ensure that 'Rule of Law' prevails in society 2. To guarantee 'equality of opportunity' 3. To provide special opportunities to weaker and vulnerable sections 4. To ensure equality of outcome 5. To understand the role and responsibilities of HEIs in Human Education and Social Inclusion. 6.To help faculty members understand human rights, value human rights, and take responsibility for respecting, defending, and promoting human rights.

Weekly Plan: The programme was conducted in two weeks. the programme was scheduled from 13 - 27 September, 2023 In the first week there were live lectures from various eminent resource persons on various topics like Indian Knowledge System,, Google Tools & Google Classroom , Constitutional Perspectives of Human Rights , Human Trafficking, Social Inclusion and Women Empowerment , Research Proposal Writing & Literature Review, Socio-Economic Rights in India, Human Rights & Criminal Justice System , The Basic Concept of Human Rights , Interface between Protection of Human Rights and Intellectual Property Rights, Human Rights of Women in India , Rights of the Persons with Disabilities: Humane & Legal Perspective. Also hands on assignment were given the the participants daily. In the second week there were live lectures from various eminent resource persons on various topics like Research Techniques & Tools, Human Rights & Women Empowerment in India through Social Inclusion, Open Educational Resource and Creative Commons , Sexual Harassment at Work Places and PoSH Act 2013, Fundamental Rights in Indian Constitution , Sustainable Development Goals, Human Rights and Social Media , Basic Human Aspiration and Its Fulfilment , Indian Constitution and Human Rights, Role of HEIs in Community Engagement and Sustainable Development. Also MCQ Test, Seminar presentation was conducted, MRPP and ICT Assignment submission was taken.
