Introduction: |
Refresher course in any subjects are organised to recall,reinforcing previously acquired
knowledge, updating new skills.Teacher in universities have to participate mendatory in
refresher courses to exchange experiences as part UGC-ASC rules and regulations.Education is
continuous process.In higher education system , capacity building program for teachers promotes
skills as well as equip them with advanced knowledge and new teaching strategies with
pedagogical techniques.Due to changing nature of teacher training programs in all over India ,
felt neet of professional development in field of education is in high demand. |

-to develop sensitivity among participants towards need of inclusion in education , gender
equality and human rights in educational institutions
-to understand different aspects of NEP 2020
- to learn pedagogical innovation in learning and teaching process
-to understand methods of research in education
- to learn use of ICT to make teaching and learning process effective and holistic development in

About Instructor: |
Professor Vijaya Rani Dhoundiyal is Dean and head ,
faculty of education ,SSJ University ,Almora
,Uttarakhand, Started career as project fellow in
NCERT , ERIC project , joined lectureship in may 1983
in dept of education of Kumaun University.
In research , developed areas related to women
studies and tribal education .Organised number of
workshop on legal literacy, climate change,continuing
education etc for students, women groups,nss
functionaries,volunteers etc. Coordinated RCs in
women studies (2008,2009,2011)RC in research
methodology (2015) , short term course (2013) of
UGC -ASC Kumaun university Nainital.Organised
ICSSR Sponsored research methodology courses in
2014,2016,2019 and 2022 ,Internation Seminar in
2020, 45 research papers and 6 books published .4
research tools also standardised . hold different
administratative post in NSS, Proctorial board , DSW
board, Coordinator- SC/ ST Net Choching cennter,
joint Diractor of Directorate of Resech and Extension,
Kumaun University Nainital Honoured by state
resource centre Dehradoon for outstanding
contributions in area of literacy development
(2002),Bharat Jyoti award by(2006)
international friendship society Delhi for work in area
of women empowerment, and Kumaun university
Nainital for outstanding work in area of NSS
(2013).Still engaged in field of women and educational
development as member of educational and social

WEEK 2- Preparation of research proposal, Qualitative research : Narrative enquiry and symbolic interaction, Pedagogy in higher education, Quantitative and qualitative research : comparison, Artificial intelligence for governance in higher education institutions, Research Methodology : Data Analysis, Evaluation of project proposal, Human Rights and Education, Gender : its linkages with Education, Education and Sustainable development, Academic writing, Valedictory.

As per UGC Guidelines
The grading will be as follows:
(i) A+: 85 percent and above
(ii) A: 70 per cent to less than or equal to 84 percent
(iii) B: 60 per cent to less than or equal to 69 per cent
(iv) C: 50 per cent to less than or equal to 59 per cent
(v) F: Below 49 per cent
Those teacher participants who get F grades are required to repeat the programme
after a gap of one year without financial commitment to UGC-HRDC.

Assessment Plan Method: |
The total marks are to be fixed at 100 and the same may be decided in the following
manner:
(i) Overall response - 20
(ii) Seminars (in diverse topics mentioned in component A) - 20
(iii) Project/survey/others (topics like climate change, environment and social
connect etc.) - 20
(iv) ICT based teaching/ MOODLE/ Micro-teaching/participation - 20
(v) Multiple-choice objective tests -20
The above distribution may be adjusted to meet specific requirements. The grades will be indicated on the certificate to be given to the teacher participant at the end of the programme.
