Introduction: Spatial and Digital Humanities are interdisciplinary fields that leverage technology to explore and understand the human experience in a spatial context. These two areas of study have gained prominence in recent years, offering new perspectives and methodologies for scholars across a wide range of disciplines. Spatial Humanities involve the application of interpreting historical and cultural phenomena. Digital Humanities, on the other hand, encompasses a broad spectrum of computational approaches for studying human culture and history. What makes Spatial and Digital Humanities particularly powerful is their synergy. Through the many applications of this, researchers can uncover new insights and inspire innovative applications in a wide range of fields, making these disciplines increasingly relevant in our data-driven world.

About Instructor: Dr. Girish Ram Kumar is currently serving as a Professor in the Department of Political Science. Prior to joining the University of Kerala he was a Professor in Raiganj University, West Bengal. He served Mahatma Gandhi University, Kerala in different capacities as Assistant Professor in the School of International Relations and Politics, Chairman, the Centre for Trade, Development and Governance, Director of the K.N. Raj Centre for Economics, and Director, Business Innovation and Incubation Centre. His areas of specialization are International Political Economy, International Relations, Innovation Studies, Intellectual Property Rights, Politics of Outer Space, etc. He has more than fifty publications to his credit.    Other institutions he served include George Washington University Law School, USA; Sydney Sussex College, and Centre for International Studies, University of Cambridge, UK; Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies, European University, Florence, Italy; Indian Law Institute, New Delhi, and Central University of Kerala. He was also the founder Director of several institutions that include Business Innovation and Incubation Centre, Mahatma Gandhi University; the Department of International Relations, Centre for International Co-operation, the Capital Centre, and Centre for International Co-operation, Central University of Kerala. Kumar has also served as Member of the Syndicate, and Convener of the Academic and Research Committee, University of Kerala
