| Introduction: | The one-day workshop for college principals on NEP 2020 future initiatives was conducted by UGC-HRDC Pondicherry University on August 12, 2023. The workshop was held at the Seminar Hall of UGC-HRDC, Pondicherry University. The workshop was inaugurated by Prof. Gurmeet Singh, Vice-Chancellor of Pondicherry University. He gave a brief overview of the National Education Policy 2020 and its key features. He stressed the importance of NEP in transforming the education system in India and making it more relevant to the needs of the 21st century. The workshop was attended by college principals from Puducherry and Karaikal. The speakers at the workshop included experts from various fields, such as educationists, policymakers, and industry representatives. They discussed the various aspects of NEP, such as its focus on holistic education, multidisciplinary learning, and skill development. They also shared their views on how NEP can be implemented in colleges and universities. The workshop was a valuable opportunity for the college principals to learn about NEP and its implications for higher education. It also helped them to network with other principals and experts in the field of education. |

| About Instructor: | Prof. Panch. Ramalingam is Director(i/c) and Course Coordinator, UGC-HRDC, Pondicherry University. He won several National and International awards for his excellent contribution in the field of Education and Psychology. He has delivered several lectures at various UGC-HRDCs, University departments, training Institutes, and Indian Statistical Institutes in Creative Teaching, Personality Development, Learning Styles, Behavioral Decision Making, Guidance and Counseling, Effective Teaching Skills, Thinking styles, and Emotional intelligence. He is an Executive Member of the Indian Academy of Applied Psychology, Founder President of the Pondicherry Psychology Association, Founder President of Indian School Psychology Association, Founder President of Asia Pacific School Psychology Association, and Patron of the Pondicherry Educational Foundation. He is also a member of the International School Psychology Association (ISPA), USA, Transpersonal Association, USA, and American Psychological Association (APA).He has organized 20 national-level conferences and ten international conferences. He authored more than 70 books, 30 books related to psychology and education. He is the Executive Editor of the Journal of the Indian Academy of Applied Psychology, invited Editor of the Indian Journal of Applied Psychology and Journal of Psychological Researches. He is also the editor of the newsletter "Indian Psychologist," published by the Pondicherry Psychology Association. |
