| Introduction: | The Refresher Course in Chemistry for the year 2023-24 was held under the theme, “Learning Outcomes and Competencies.” The goal of this program is to ensure that skills learned during the initial training are not lost due to lack of use. This program provided an opportunity for participants to learn about changes that have taken place in chemistry so that they stay updated and well-equipped to discharge their duties as a teacher and a researcher in colleges and universities. In the concluding week of the program, the participants were assessed on the basis of multiple-choice objective tests and also taking into account other evaluations already done and accordingly, grades were awarded. |
| Objectives: | The refresher course in chemistry run by the University Grant Commission -Human Resource Development Centre (UGC-HRDC) is to provide opportunities for teachers to exchange knowledge and experience, with their peers and to mutually learn from each other. Therefore, the participants were encouraged to do collaborative research for mutual growth. Hence, this course has further widen their knowledge and scope to pursue research studies. For wider knowledge and applications of chemistry, the experts were invited even from allied subjects such as Green Energy Technology, Biochemistry, Nano Science, etc. |

| Certification: | Following the guidelines of the UGC, Grades were awarded to the participants. i A+: 85 percent and above ii A: 70 per cent to less than or equal to 84 percent iii B: 60 per cent to less than or equal to 69 per cent iv C: 50 per cent to less than or equal to 59 per cent v F: Below 49 per cent Twenty four participants were awarded the grade of A+, And ten participants were awarded the grade of A. |
