Introduction: |
Induction Programme for newly recruited teachers is intended to orient them to the innovative practices in teaching and learning. A part from practical sessions on classroom teaching and classroom management, the participants are given exposure to divergent areas like time management, interpersonal relationship, academic writing, cybercrime, service rules and research methodology. Practical sessions on online teaching tools and LMS and micro-teaching followed by analysis provides much needed trains to the young teachers. All the participants prepare a project report on a topic related to their field of study and the same is presented in the class before a moderator. The feedback is collected from the participants and an objective multiple-choice test is conducted on the last day. The programme ends with a feedback session. |
Objectives: |
The main objective of the programme is to enable the teachers to discover themselves and their potential through a positive appreciation of their role in the total social, intellectual and moral universe within which they function and of which they are important members. In a country where teachers can fulfil their responsibility with awareness and confidence, the educational system becomes relevant and dynamic. |

About Instructor: |
He served as Pro-Vice-Chancellor, University of Kerala during 2018-2022, the Director of School of Distance Education, University of Kerala from 2008-2011 and is serving as Director, UGC-HRDC, University of Kerala at present. His works include Interventions: Readings in Literature & Culture (2018) and Nayantara Sahgal: A Reappraisal (2022). The Chief Editor of Littcrit: An Indian Response to Literature, an International literary journal of repute published from Thiruvananthapuram, Dr. P. P. Ajayakumar has published several articles in scholarly journals, popular articles in magazines and newspapers and authored/edited 10 books. |
