Introduction: |
The short –term course in Music and Performing Arts was conducted from 05- 01-2023 to 11-01-23 for the faculties working at different colleges and universities. Eminent Scholars in the concerned fields were selected as the Resource Persons to enrich the academic level of the faculties working under various colleges of music and performing arts. These Resource Persons include expertise from the fields such as Composing, Performing expertise, Custodian of traditional wealth of carnatic music, Musicologist, Eminent Stage Performers of Classical Arts and Researchers. More than 23 participants have attended the course and exceedingly benefitted. |
Objectives: |
Objectives of the course:
∙ To introduce and inculcate the legacy of classical arts to the faculties and
through them to the students.
∙ To enable the participants interact with these Eminent Persons.
∙ To provide a better platform to exchange concepts and thoughts in varied
fields of Performing Arts with practice in music, dance and other traditional
art forms.
∙ To bring the students closer to the environment, and to teach the cultural
heritage.
∙ To make aware the careers options and enable to link the knowledge of arts with professional training.

About Instructor: |
Dr Bindu. K was the Course Co-ordinator, who is currently working as Associate Professor & Head i/c, Department of Music in the University of Kerala. Having a Teaching experience of both UG, PG and M Phil Courses in Music for more than 22 years, she is the supervising Guide for many Ph D Scholars, and three students were already awarded Ph D. Adjudicator of Ph D Thesis by other universities. Auditioned Artist of All India Radio and performed vocal concerts in various sabhas and published various articles in UGC care- listed and other Research Journals. Edited book with ISBN.
Qualifications: MA , M Phil , Ph D in Music, and NET.
