| Introduction: | Introduction Leadership development is critical for the long-term success of any institution/ organisation. To build effective teams, optimise employees' competencies and prepare the next generation of leaders, we have to promote leadership development. Unlike training, where the main focus is on how to do things the right way, development emphasises how things ought to be done in the future. This customized one week course aims to integrate learning and practicing skill set among teachers, understanding oneself, and empowering and working with others to enhance competencies and confidence and thrive establishments/institutions. It is also hoped that this programme would be highly beneficial to those teachers whose promotions to the post of Head of the Departments and Principals are due or those who want to switch over to other academic/administrative positions. The seven day course will be conducted in 24 sessions at the Seminar Hall of the UGC – Human Resource Development Centre (HRDC), University of Kerala at Kariavattom Campus, Thiruvananthapuram from Dec. 1, 2021 to Dec. 07, 2021. The topics viz. (i) Art of Leadership, (ii) Transformational Leadership in Practice, (iii) Team Building for Success , (iv) Be Leaders in Bringing up Leadership, (v) Leadership at Work, (vi) Global Leadership, (vii) New Normal Leadership, and (viii) Leadership: Roles, Skills, Qualities and Styles will be discussed in the course. |

| About Instructor: | Profile of the Course Coordinator Dr.R.Vasanthagopal, Professor of Commerce and Director, School of Distance Education, University of Kerala is the Course Coordinator. As a high profile teacher, Dr.Vasanthagopal has 25 years of teaching and research experience. He has published ten books on Commerce and Management and contributed a number of research papers in peer-reviewed national and International journals, and 25 scholars completed PhD under him. He serves as Dean, Faculty of Management Studies, Member Senate, Academic Council and Board of Studies of the University. |
