Introduction: Short-Term Course on Community Engagement (27-02-2023 to 04-03-2023) ‘Community Engagement’ serves a broad range of purposes like community participation, community development, leadership development, capacity building, understanding/developing necessary skills, and implementing effective strategies among people in such ways that fit the community. Thus, keeping in view, the above multi-disciplinary nature One Week Short-Term Course on Community Engagement was organized from 27-02-2023 to 04-03-2023. In this, 39 participants from various colleges and Universities participated.
Objectives: The Short-Term Course was designed to fulfill the following objectives: • To develop a sense of appreciation amongst teacher-participants regarding the status of community cultures, their problems, lifestyle, outcomes development programs of the government, and wisdom in communities of rural and peri-urban areas . • To imbibe an understanding among the participants about the assessment of the impact of various community-specific institutional and technology-based interventions. • To train the teachers-participants for undertaking participatory research by having access to local data, enhancing the interpretation of research finding through a real understanding of local context, providing a natural infrastructure for stakeholders, and suggesting pragmatic policy decisions to the institutions concerned.

About Instructor: Dr. Sunil Kumar is Assistant Professor in the Department of Sociology, additionaly he has been assigned the duties of Dy. Director, UGC-HRDC, Kurukshetra Univesity, Kurukshetra. He has 20 years of teaching and 10 years of reserach experience. He has published 36 research papers and 01 book. He guided 02 doctoral candidates, competitive 02 research projects and 01 of his policy document on Denotified Caste has been accepted for implementation by the Govt. of Haryana. He visited Germany and Austria for academic purposes.
