Introduction: English language teaching (ELT) together with the growth of English as a Second or Foreign Language (ESL/EFL) is a progressive field that often witnesses methodological innovations. Teachers, researchers, and practitioners are in continuous search for the best teaching tools and practices that can help learners succeed in their language learning and meet the employment criteria and market needs. According to Cook (200330:), “different approaches to teaching English did not just occur by chance, but in response to changing geopolitical circumstances and social attitudes and values, as well as to shifts of fashion in linguistics which, for all its apparent objectivity, was itself subject to social change”. In response to the increasing demand for quality teaching and learning, particularly in the ESL/EFL contexts, quality assurance (QA) system has evolved from the outset of its inception as a peculiar and unique practice in the higher education new agenda.
