| Introduction: | The UGC Human Resource Development Center (UGC HRDC) of the University of Calicut conducted a course for social science faculty at higher education institutions on creating online courses and e- learning content. The course aimed to accomplish the following. |
| Objectives: | 1. Training educators in the fundamentals of online teaching and curriculum development in social sciences. 2. Giving educators the tools, they need to develop interactive online courses that boost student achievement. 3. Assisting educators in understanding and making the most of available online learning resources in social science disciplines. 4. Training educators to create online lessons that are accessible to and welcoming to students with a range of abilities. 5. Motivating educators to try new approaches to online education and refine their methods in light of student feedback. 6. Educators need to be trained to modify their methods and resources to accommodate the unique demands of their regular and online students. 7. Giving educators a forum for mutual assistance and the development of shared expertise among e-learning experts. 8. Ensuring that teachers are equipped with the skills and knowledge needed to create high-quality e-learning materials that meet the standards of their institution 9. Presentations of various research papers by course participants were expected to be made. 10. As e-learning develops further, it is important to encourage educators to keep up with the field and acquire new skills and expertise. |
